Biking and feeling...Philosophical? Wut?

So, I hadn't been on a bike in 2 years. Why? I HATE bicycling. I don't know why, I've just never cared for it. Anyway, my family made me go on a 9 mile bike ride today...it was not fun, let me assure you. The good news is I don't have to go on it again until next year :D

Anyway, I was watching the Twilight Zone yesterday (SciFi Channel marathon FTW!) and there was one episode that got me thinking. See, there are these aliens who come to Earth to help us accomplish world peace (they end up eating humans in the end. It's a good episode) And I suddenly realized...World Peace is impossible!
Think about it: It's human nature to be violent. It's an animalistic instinct (even monkeys can go to war with each other!) Also, the idea of "peace" is different to every individual. Those who believe in a "superior race" have a different idea of peace than someone like me who believes that everyone is equal. Also, even if we were to create a perfect society in which everyone lived in harmony, people would rebel. It is also in our nature to rebel against social norms. And, of course, ones who do not rebel will dislikes the other, thus creating conflict again...

Whew! Sorry about that rant. ^^; I needed to get it out, I guess. Heheh...I should stop thinking so much XDD

Oh god, I know! I was waiting for someone to say that world peace can't become reality. Also, has peace ever worked? Only after wars and death, and even then the calm is disrupted so theres no point. FINALLY someone to agree with!

I went on a bike ride Saturday. I haven't been on a bike for two years too, and that was only a short distance! Grr.

Exactly! What we consider a "time of peace" is really just the aftermath to a war and the beginning of planning for the next war. The only way to get World Peace is if humans stopped having emotions, and nobody is willing to give that up.

FTW means "for the win" :3 I actually just figured that out recently, haha XDD

I hate bikes DX I also just found out that I have to go on bike rides for my summer gym class. :faint: At least it's only a few days. It beats one year of PE next year! XDD

I love the Twilight Zone~ I've probably seen every episode by now! XD

Haha I never even had a bike with gears! Just training wheels. Plus after I had a bike crash in 2nd grade I never wanted to ride again. I attempted to learn a few times but I kept getting the flashback-feeling so it was a no go :XD:

What really gets me riled up is all these wannabe hippies who say peace is the answer. Truth is, they don't know half of whats going on overseas. If we sat around peacefully, we wouldn't be the United States of America.

Ooh thanks I've been wanting to know that for ages :XD:

Aww, I'm sorry you had a bike crash :hug: You're really not missing anything, though. XD

I hate that the hippie look is back in! All my friends just go around wearing peace signs and preaching about living in harmony, but they don't really know anything. I mean, I (unfortunately) live in a prep town where most people don't care what's happening around the world, but they just love acting like they do.
